All good parents have regrets when they look back at their children’s upbringing. Parents of estranged adult children may be more plagued by regrets than most.
But regrets are nothing to be ashamed of because they mean that you’ve been learning and growing. If you had no regrets, it would be an indication that you haven’t changed since your children were small. And that’s not necessarily something to be proud of.
If you have the strength to look at things you wish you’d done differently in parenting, there’s good news for you and your adult child…
You can re-parent adult children from the inside out.
In this episode (listen now using the player below, or subscribe for free in your favorite podcast player app), Tina describes what she means by re-parenting, and encourages you to parent yourself the way everyone deserves to be parented.
She offers three specific re-parenting tips to start practicing today. And if your adult child isn’t available, that’s perfectly okay, because it’s best to start with yourself when it comes to re-parenting.
For much more on how to repair and enhance your relationship with your adult child(ren), read Tina’s book, Reconnecting With Your Estranged Adult Child.
