Do you wish you could be closer to your adult child?

Don’t let the pain of estrangement stop you from taking the right action to end it.

Too many parents find themselves cut off by one or more of their adult children.

Can you relate to any of these feelings?

That's what inspired us to build this place.

Reconnection Club

The Reconnection Club is so much more than just another support group. It’s nothing less than an online school, teaching parents how to transform their relationships with their children and themselves.

Forget about “Us vs. Them.” There’s none of that here. It’s all about compassion… for you AND your child.

Guided by a caring, knowledgeable therapist.

Rejected parents need in-depth, practical, up-to-date information & tools. We’ve got them.

PLUS the social support, friendship and encouragement from other parents just like you.

Learn how to craft a message your child will appreciate.

Let us help you:

Find just the right words to express yourself over email or text, without inviting a negative reaction.

Eliminate the guesswork around questions like, "Is it too soon try reaching out again?"

Tap into the knowledge of parents who've been there, tried that, and have wisdom to share.

Learn behaviors that will attract your child like a magnet, instead of waiting passively for change.

Understand what went wrong in the first place, so you never have to go through this again.

Love yourself more, while also loving your child, your family and your life again.

Meet the Club director

Tina Gilbertson

Hi, I’m Tina Gilbertson, LPC. I’m a psychotherapist, estrangement consultant, and founder (along with my husband, Mike) of the Reconnection Club.

My full-time job is helping parents reconnect with their estranged adult children. Through my training and experience as a family estrangement counselor, I’ve learned a lot about why adult children estrange themselves, and what parents can do about it.

The resources inside the Club have been developed based on years of experience and training. They’re designed to help you reduce the time it takes to reconnect and maximize your chances of a permanent reconciliation

I hear regularly from parents who have successfully used what they learned in the Club to regain their precious connection with a previously estranged adult child.

Estrangement doesn’t happen overnight, and it usually takes time to fully resolve. By joining the Club today, you’ll get the ongoing support and information you need as you navigate from estrangement through to post-reconciliation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? We’ve got answers…

We need your real name when you register, but your name will not be visible to other members.

When you first sign up, you’ll create a unique username (nickname), and that’s how other members will identify you.

IMPORTANT: Your username cannot be changed, so make sure to choose something you can live with, and *don’t* use your email address.

We’re confident that you’ll love being a member of our friendly community. But if for any reason you’re not 100% satisfied, we have a 90-day, no questions asked, full refund policy.

Just ask. We won’t give you a hard time.

We can give you all the tools and information you need to work toward reconciliation with your child. But we can’t take the steps for you. Therefore, we’re not able to guarantee reconciliation.

What we can say is that we regularly see parents succeed in re-establishing contact using the resources we provide.

Not hard at all. Just click “Cancel.” This video shows you how in less than one minute.

Our community is behind a paywall. Only those who sign up for a membership can view and post on the discussion pages.

According to our Terms of Service, you must be the parent or stepparent of an estranged adult child in order to join the Reconnection Club.

If you know how to click your way around a website, you’ll be right at home inside the Club. However, we’re here to help you if you have any trouble.

We have a detailed overview course, Getting Started With Your Membership, that explains all the ins and outs of navigating the site. Feel free to check it out before you join.

We also make it easy to contact us with technical questions by using the community forum, the Tech Support page, or good old email.

Your level of social interaction is entirely up to you. Not everyone likes to chat in forums, so we offer lots of resources for individual learning.

Delve into our library and start reading, watching, and listening to the material that interests you. New resources are added regularly, and we’ll send email to let you know what’s available.

Office Hours are a popular resource for parents who would like to hear Tina address specific issues. But if you don’t feel like joining the call live, you can still listen to the recording or, if it’s a live write-in, read the forum conversation afterwards, at your convenience.

All to say, you don’t have to be social to benefit from joining the Club. Many of our members never interact with other members, but still derive a great deal of value from their memberships.

Yes, as long as you live at the same address, please feel free to share an account.

You might want to create a username like “OzzieAndHarriet” — please don’t use your real names — and if you post in the forums, let us know which one of you is posting.

We look forward to welcoming both of you.

That’s okay. Just remember we’re here for you whenever you need us.

A great way to keep in touch is to join our mailing list. We’ll send you a few of our best resources up front, plus a new article every month with practical advice and information for estranged parents.

You can also subscribe to the Reconnection Club Podcast, a weekly show that offers both information and inspiration to hurting parents everywhere.
