Did you and your child used to be closer ?

Don’t let the pain of estrangement stop you from being proactive.

Too many parents find themselves cut off by their adult child(ren) and don’t understand why.

Can you relate to any of these feelings?

Rejected, hurt, lonely, angry, and/or sad

You’re questioning your parenting skills

You’re wondering about 3rd party influence

You’re embarrassed to tell anyone

You worry about your child’s mental health

You don’t know what to do

That’s what inspired us to build this place.

Welcome to the Reconnection Club learning center.

The Reconnection Club is not a support group. It’s an online school that teaches growth-focused parents how to transform their relationships with their children and themselves.

Forget about “Us vs. Them.” There’s none of that here. It’s all about compassion… for you AND your child.

Psychoeducation from a caring, knowledgeable therapist.

Rejected parents need in-depth, practical, and up-to-date information & tools. We’ve got a library full of educational resources designed with one goal: To  help you understand what happened, and what you can do about it.

PLUS the friendship, experience and encouragement of other lifelong learners who happen to be estranged from their adult child or children.

There’s a Road Map to follow from your very first day, including self-paced courses to guide you along our learning pathways.

Learn how to craft a message your child will appreciate.

Let us help you:

Find just the right words to express yourself over email or text, without inviting a negative reaction.

Eliminate the guesswork around questions like, “Is it too soon try reaching out again?”

Tap into the knowledge of parents who’ve been there, tried that, and have wisdom to share.

Learn behaviors that will attract your child like a magnet, instead of waiting passively for change.

Understand what went wrong in the first place, so you never have to go through this again.

Love yourself more, while also loving your child, your family and your life again.

Meet the Club director

Tina Gilbertson

Hello, I’m psychotherapist and family estragement specialist* Tina Gilbertson.

My goal with The Reconnection Club is to put myself out of business, by helping parents develop the skills and confidence they need to solve the problem of estrangement for themselves.

Because our focus is on education, The Reconnection Club is not a substitute for therapy. For best results, please make sure you have adequate emotional and social support before joining. Without local support, it’s hard for most parents to fully utilize our resources.

My husband, Mike (he’s our technical and Help Desk guy), and I look forward to welcoming you to a club that *everyone* wants to join: Not the estrangement club, but The Reconnection Club.

*I hold a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and am registered in Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? We’ve got answers…

We need your real name when you register, but your name will not be visible to other members.

When you first sign up, you’ll create a unique username (nickname), and that’s how other members will identify you.

IMPORTANT: Your username cannot be changed, so make sure to choose something you can live with, and *don’t* use your email address.

We’re confident that you’ll love being a member of our friendly community. But if for any reason you’re not 100% satisfied, we have a 90-day, no questions asked, full refund policy.

Just ask. We won’t give you a hard time.

We can give you all the tools and information you need to work toward reconciliation with your child. But we can’t take the steps for you. Therefore, we’re not able to guarantee reconciliation.

What we can say is that we regularly see parents succeed in re-establishing contact using the resources we provide.

Not hard at all. Just click “Cancel.” This video shows you how in less than one minute.

Our community is behind a paywall. Only those who sign up for a membership can view and post on the discussion pages.

According to our Terms of Service, you must be the parent or stepparent of an estranged adult child in order to join the Reconnection Club.

If you know how to click your way around a website, you’ll be right at home inside the Club. However, we’re here to help you if you have any trouble.

We have a detailed overview course, Getting Started With Your Membership, that explains all the ins and outs of navigating the site. Feel free to check it out before you join.

We also make it easy to contact us with technical questions by using the community forum, the Tech Support page, or good old email.

Your level of social interaction is entirely up to you. Not everyone likes to chat in forums, so we offer lots of resources for individual learning.

Delve into our library and start reading, watching, and listening to the material that interests you. New resources are added regularly, and we’ll send email to let you know what’s available.

Office Hours are a popular resource for parents who would like to hear Tina address specific issues. But if you don’t feel like joining the call live, you can still listen to the recording or, if it’s a live write-in, read the forum conversation afterwards, at your convenience.

All to say, you don’t have to be social to benefit from joining the Club. Many of our members never interact with other members, but still derive a great deal of value from their memberships.

Yes, as long as you live at the same address, please feel free to share an account.

You might want to create a username like “OzzieAndHarriet” — please don’t use your real names — and if you post in the forums, let us know which one of you is posting.

We look forward to welcoming both of you.

That’s okay. Just remember we’re here for you whenever you need us.

A great way to keep in touch is to join our mailing list. We’ll send you a few of our best resources up front, plus a new article every month with practical advice and information for estranged parents.

You can also subscribe to the Reconnection Club Podcast, a weekly show that offers both information and inspiration to hurting parents everywhere.

Subscribe today on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or have a listen to the latest episodes on our very own podcast page.

Get to know us. Get on the mailing list, listen to the podcast, or read our blog. Whatever you do, please accept our warmest wishes for a speedy, mutually statisfying, and permanent reconciliation with your adult child(ren).

Try it for 3 months without any risk
